Zie’l – Genesis

The Urban Music Scene takes great pleasure in introducing Zie’l, one of the newest up and coming Urban Gospel superstars. Produced by Hitland Entertainment and recorded on Light Records, these ladies are truly destined for huge success. From the opening track all you can say is Wow! These ladies can sing! Their album entitled “Genesis” is definitely appropriate because this is just the beginning, in my opinion, of a long, illustrious career for Zie’l. Pronounced ‘zeye-el’, these sisters exhibit a staying power like their contemporaries The Clark Sisters, Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, etc., etc..And you can obviously see the the many influences these ladies have had because they sounded like they have been singing together for years. Truly rich harmonies and powerful, soulful stirring lyrics make each track a real praise and worship experience!

“Send Me” –
After hearing this track, who wouldn’t want to go! Willing and available is always the attitude we should have; Kinda like Isaiah:”Here I am Lord, send me”; “Is My Living In Vain?”- Most certainly not!!! When we are truly committed to His work and living in His perfect will, we always have something to look forward to. Like hearing the ladies sing this song live!!!; “That’s How He Saved Me”. Anyone going through a trial or test will undeniably be ministered to by this song. It means a lot when you know what God has brought you through as well as where He is taking you to; “He’s Able” – Originally inspired by the late Rev. James Cleveland, Zie’l does an awesome job with a classic from the gospel archives. “Worship Thee” is straight to the point and beautifully done. On a side note, this song was the inspiration for my three daughters’ next praise dance. While I was playing the album they said “Daddy, play that again!”; And that Thursday, they starting practicing. Now this is how you reach out to the young people!!!

“Yesterday” –
The message in this song is that we can’t move into tomorrow’s destiny if we are stuck in yesterday’s shame. True victory comes from letting go and letting God. “Can We Get Away?” – You’re gonna be blown away by this track simply by the way these sisters harmonize. This song talks about the intimacy of a true relationship with God. “I Love You So Much” is almost like God himself were talking to you. And “Everytime I Get A Chance” lets us know that whenever or wherever we should give God the highest praise. The album wraps up with a beautiful Outro as these ladies petition the Lord regarding their future. Overall I was absolutely impressed with Genesis. These up and coming superstars have put together an album that transcends generational barriers and find a way to minister to you right where you are. I can’t say enough about Zie’l but then you wouldn’t buy the album. So go out and get it and prepare to be blessed!
