Naturally 7 – Live At Montreux 2007

These 7 talented cats from New York, courtesy of Eagle Rock Entertainment, arrives on the scene to showcase a completely different vibe from behind the mic! And with that said, comes a recommendation to those who can appreciate creative innovation for good music to be heard directly from the stage!

“Naturally 7 – Live At Montreux 2007” brought the appealing ‘vocal play’/style to the forefront of the careers of Roger Thomas, Warren Thomas, Dwight Stewart, Jamal Reed, Rod Eldridge, Armand “Hops” Hutton & Garfield Buckley, as they illustrate an exciting new approach to acapella melodies. Similar in taste to gospel acapella group Take 6, these cats genuinely displayed an instrumental sound through their voices, as well as singing background & leads to familiar tracks at the Montreux Jazz Festival. And yes, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the video/DVD!

Where do I start? The opening track “Fly Baby” will grab your direct attention & command the thought of turning up your volume control, slightly, to the TV set or amplifier, so you can hear exactly what you didn’t come to expect!; “Can Ya Feel It?” went into an explosive set of complex sounds, as you are finally directed to the offsetting sounds of Naturally 7!; “Broken Wings” displayed not only the instrumental vocal flair by this powerful group, but also the lead vocals!

“Feel It (In The Air Tonight)” was another track to look out for, as well as the Simon & Garfunkel Medley: “Sound Of Silence”, “Scarborough Fair” & “April Come She Will”, as this tribute fully orchestrates the vocal tendency by Naturally 7 to blend harmonically great music from those legendary artists.

The DVD is made exclusively by Eagle Rock Entertainment, who have made quite a great tradition lately, for developing, producing & releasing great live concerts & festivals from the Montreux Jazz Festival & other various concerts. It comes in DTS & Dolby Digital 5.0 sound, so for immediate replay through your amplifier/receiver should be quite an experience! In fact, its recommended that this project receives playback under those functions to fully appreciate the complete sound rhythms & instrumental ‘vocal play’ from Naturally 7!!
