Deitrick Haddon | 7 Days

R&B/Gospel newcomer Deitrick Haddon refreshens the Gospel scene with a forthcoming release from Zomba recordings called “7 Days”. This Detroit native shares a delight for the Lord upon tracks designed possibly more to get your groove on as opposed to outright dancing in the isles at morning service. Most of the tracks were produced by Tim & Bob for the Funktwons, Inc., which speaks clearly on how some songs were jammin’ straight out of the box.

Deitricks’ voice easily gets more rcognition on the slower tracks, revealing more of his vocal abilites to stretch out into a composition without the song taking away his opportunity. “Help Somebody” serves an anthem of encouragement & support; “7 Days” definitely carries ovetones from various Urban R&B artists like Mario, Bobby Valentino & Usher; “Count Your Blessngs” sounds like a recreated sample once used from Urban R&B crooner Jaheim, but actually I appreciated this track much better – a much different tempo….; “Don’t Go” is my Favorite Cut!

This cat has a voice – Overall! His reach into the R&B community may very well be felt by fans who appreciate R&B/Hip-Hop & that’s possibly something more told as a testimony to the soul music industry. The flavor from Deitrick can last if he stays consistent.

I hope he does….
