G. Mayes & Nu Era – Diary Of A Strong Souljah

Right off the back, G. Mayes doesn’t mess around with praise worship! This cat simply creates an anthem of dedicated worship! Its inspiring to say the least, but gracefully, he laced it into a double CD set equipped to leave a everlasting impression of Urban Gospel set to be released to the masses in the sanctuary.

With “Diary Of A Strong Souljah”, Mr. Mayes displays pure talent & production skills reminiscent to Kirk, Fred, & the league of Urban Gospel contenders. I was pleased with the overall song selections & sequencing, as to which it draws weight to words of encouragement. His staff of talent contributed extremely well! If you are in need of another breakthrough of great gospel music, sit tight & watch out for this project, coming straight from the layouts of Light Records…

“Hit The Deck (feat. bbjay)” was inspiring & a great choice to lead of the deck for the album. Watch out for the immediate praise! “A Word From The Father (feat. the nuworldmusick Family)” sends back a template once used from R&B group “Mint Condition” & the crew automatically runs away with it! Check it!; The same goes with “Stand Still”, lead vocally by ced b; The groove goes slightly into a different direction with “Wait On Him (feat nikki ross)”, I’m sure y’all will appreciate this one! As for the rest, as always, I try not to give up everything in a review, not wanting to spoil the fun. Just pay close attention to this folks: Grab the CD while its hot!

The slow serenades will also garner your attention. A moment of settled peace will arise from listening to their slow melodies/ballads. These treasures quickly cements the project! Tracks in mind? “Holy” (I loved this track!) & “He’ll Come Through”…

OK, I’ll stop right there!

Don’t let the names of the track listings fool y’all! Neither the subject matter of radical approaches & spoken words. I believe the talents behind the wind of G. Mayes came to play & helped to orchestrate the defining love given to our Lord & Saviour through their music! This CD is getting major playback in the house & I hope it will come to satisfy you all the same!!

In praise…
