Hailing from Detroit, Michigan…..Rayse’s influences of Russell Green, Roy Brooks, Berbies Williams & Marcus Belgrave, as well as Dr. Thomas “Bean” Bowles celebrates a legacy I feel He will bring to refresh the jazz standard. From “Melodic Breeze” right down to “Memories”, there will be no escaping your ears pleasure, once you catch the drift of his directive flow! Track after track, there’s an approaching method to suggest…sit back & listen. ‘The glass of wine is me!”.

This disc flows without depending on niche sounds. Although there may come a hint or a drop to radio-friendliness, Rayse steps up to the plate & delivers more than one can really bite on!

Its Fresh, Funky & Romantic…to say the least!

These songs are, to me, an anthem of Earth tones. Take for example the melodic chord approach to “Um Da Da” & the given vocal arrangements presented. The beat is funky, but it showcases a rather groove-toned presence of jazz & R&B on a softer scale. Elements of instrumental backings truly brings together this great composition.

For all of those slow jammin’, smooth jazz lovers out there, comes exactly what the title suggests. “Smooth” simply lays it on the line: Its getting late! Turn off the lights! Turn on the Stereo & drop in Rayse Biggs! Because he is ready to groove – ‘in the night time…

Keep in mind, Rayse plays also the piano, bass guitar & drums! His players consist of 3 background singers & a 5 piece band!

His chops on the brass are supreme throughout each tracks. He displays a riveting soulful sound in the horn he plays & its quite evident he is enjoying the touches he leaves to each song! He plays free style with an traditional improvisational approach I’m sure you’ll dig when you catch it!

Catch this one on me! Its highly recommended! In fact, there has to be another project from him cookin’ on the stove top! Has to be!

Stick Around…
