The Perceptions
What happens when you take members of “Incognito, James Taylor Quartet, The Sound Stylistics,
The Superphonics, Lisa Stanfield, Speedometer, Mark Ronson, and Snowboy”, and put them in the
studio? You have the “Perceptions” a band that give is that late 60’s funk/jazz flavor.
The cd was recorded on tape with vintage equipment to give it authenticity.
This cd is has no shortage of groove, from “Right The Wrong” to “Hurricane Warning”, and everything
else in between.
1. Right the wrong
2. Inside Outside
3. Nickys knack
4. Rollin’& Tumblin’
5. Fathead
6. Running the risk
7. Loopy Doopy
8. Hurricane warning
To compliment this exciting release, there are seven alternate versions of the cd, which will
be available on 7 inch vinyl with legendary Fred Wesley appearing on two of them.
So if your not into that Blue Note, Prestige label, late 60’s style funk/jazz, then this album
will make a fan, and if you really think about it, this type of groove gave birth to what
we now call Acid jazz, which was prominent in the late 80’s to the mid nineties, and still
be heard today in certain clubs.
