Keith Sweat – Live in Concert with Teena Marie: Los Angeles

Keith Sweat with special guest Teena Marie –
Live in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theater (February 17th)

Keith Sweat looked great and his voice sounded equally as great last Sunday night at the Nokia Theater.  Keith Sweat, who was Co Headlining an outstanding twin billing that included the legendary “Lady T”  Ms. Teena Marie! Keith Sweat who by his own admission is known as singer who loves to beg had the women begging on this night. As he told us men in the audience “He begs so that us men don’t have to.”  Well all I know is on this night Keith had all the women  working up a heavy sweat and begging for more as he sang hit after hit. I was surprise how well Keith sounded I thought he his band was tight and in sync as he delivered a absolute A+ performance. It was obvious that Keith was well prepared mentally and psychically. Keith’s voice was silky smooth as he sang all of our favorite tunes “I Want Her”, “Make It Last Forever”, “Don’t Stop Your Love”, and so many more.  I have to to admit, I was a little disappointed that Keith didn’t sing his newest release “Suga, Suga, Suga” or any of his new stuff that is set to be release in May. However, maybe that was by design cause I found myself wanting more of Keith and I couldn’t wait until May.

Overall, Great Show Keith and Please Don’t Stop!

As for Lady T, where do I start? The room was filled with excitement and anticipation as one of the greatest female singers of our time was set to take the stage. While the personnel hands prepared the stage, fans were already whistling and chanting “Teena,Teena,Teena”!! It was electric because the band hadn’t even appeared yet… And then it started – band members slowly made their way onto the stage, As they started tuning instruments, we knew it was about that time. Then as the crowd grew restless with a desire that needed to be feed out of nowhere, we heard the amazing, powerful voice. Teena was up to her old tricks singing back stage, teasing us for a couple of minutes before she took the stage. Then like a cat stuck out on a limb, Teena rescued us by appearing. Words can not describe how Teena performed on this night. She was in vintage form – The ultimate entertainer. Her voice was still as strong as ever. Every song that she sang was right on time. Whether she sang “Square Biz”, “LoverGirl”, “Oh La La La”, “Out On A Limb”, etc. I don’t think the fans took their seats! I had the best time on this evening and so enjoyed my self. Teena played the Congo drums, guitar, and keyboards and mastered each one of them. I found myself constantly looking around this jam packed arena wondering is there any modern day so call entertainer taking notes.

Teena Marie was on this night giving a lesson on what it means to be a entertainer. This was my first time seeing Teena live and I was so thankful that I finally did because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. In my book, Lady T is still the LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Excellent Concert! Again another A++++++
