Paul Hardcastle – 5

Paul Hardcastle has been a Jazz Staple for at least 23 years and even before that, but we first heard of him when Rainforest hit the radio waves.

Track Listing:
~ In The Beginning
~ Lucky Star
~ Don’t You Know
~ Marimba
~ Closer
~Return Of The Rainman
~ Blew My Mind
~ Constellation Of Dreams
~ Don’t You Know, Part 2
~ Keep On Movin
~ Revival
~ Till The Next Time
~ Take One

This project is nice all around. Paul keeps his same signature sounding style, but with more laid back on the bass lines. Paul is also working with a new vocalist by thename of Beki Biggins & they co-wrote four tracks – “Don’t You Know”, “Closer”, “Blew My Mind” & “Keep On Moving”. You can tell she’s kind of nervous, but sings quite well!

(Oh if your wondering what happened to Helen Rogers, she’s mostly on the Jazzmasters projects)

The tracks “Marimba”, and “Constellation of Dreams” sound like the grooves Paul put out in the eighty’s, and the rest was nice and mellow.

Paul’s Daughter, who sang on a couple of tracks off his last effort, has stepped aside to let her younger brother, Paul Hardcastle Jr., get his groove on! And on the last track of the CD, “Take One”, Paul jr. wrote, arranged, produced, played & mixed this track in his bedroom. Its his first song! Look out for him in the future!!

This is a great cd to put on after you get home from work or just to chill to.
