Joey Negro & The Sunburst Band | The Remixes

Keeping
that 80’s vibe going, Joey Negro and The Sunburst Band has done just
that. They first appeared in my musical world on the Expansion records
compilation cd and I just couldn’t get enough of “Put A Lyric In It” –
a groove that’s right along with “Haven’t You Heard” & “Forget Me
Nots”,Though they have three cd’s out, it was only fitting that they
release a 2cd set of full length remixes and believe me… it was worth
it. Joey’s label was kind enough to send me a sample of the remixes
which was just to tantalize my senses in which it did.

The Remixes
are arranged by various producers including Joey himself and the other
titles:”Man Of War (Henrik Schwarz mix)”, “Sitting On Top Of The World
(DJ Meme mix)”, “He Is (Joey Negro club)”, “Everyday (Cool
Millionretr-o-matic mix)”, “Our Lives Are Shaped (Grant Nelson mix)”,
“Journey To The Sun (Milton Jackson mix)”, “U Make Me So Hot (Yam Who
mix)”,”After Dusk (Joey Negro ext mix)”, “Fly Away (Audiowhores mix)”,
“Far Beyond (Recloose mix)”, “Turn It Out (IG Culture mix)”, and “Man
Of War (Idjut Boys mix). The main remix on this great cd is “Movin’
with the shakers”. This mellow funky jazz groove is all that, and if
you listen to the words, (imo) it’s where we all
want to be. The productions is excellent and not overdone like some
remixes these days and guess what, it doesn’t have ‘T-pain’ on it.

The Sunburst band has three cd’s available: “Moving With The Shakers”, “Until The End Of Time” & “Here Comes The Sunburst Band”.
Also Joey is going under the name Doug Willis in the release “Doug
Willis’s Brain”. On the original cd for “Movin’ with the shakers” guest
vocals include Taka Boom (Chaka’s sister) and Diane Charlemagne. If the
original versions are anything like the remixes, then I know these cd’s
will stand the test of time. You can listen to sound samples &
purchase at www.amazon.com and www.dustygroove.com.
