Curt Jones – 360 Degrees

CURT JONES: 360 Degrees

He was born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1957 & came from a highly trained musical family. Not only was his Grandfather, Hershel Davenport, a Big Band Leader, His Aunts recorded as The Davenport Sisters for Motown. He became a member of the Symphonic Express & he had been the Lead Vocalist for Starchild.

In the late 70’s to the early 80’s, his voice gave dynamics to 3 of the funkiest albums in Funk history. Then from 1980 to 1984, he blazed on 5 successful albums. First, he wanted to know “Are You Single”, then you had to “Make Up Your Mind”. After 17 years from the last album, this artist has come full circle with a CD that is not hip-hop, nor neo-soul, but this is “360 Degrees” of heavyweight R&B. The way R&B should be! Ladies & Gentleman, I want you to meet Curt Jones…

As you listen to this magnificent CD, you can hear the influences from Marvin Gaye, Prince, Quincy Jones & many others. This brilliant CD is mostly ballads & one of the best ballads is “Seasons”, This gorgeous ballad has a classic 80’s sensibility; The deep bassline & keys. Curt’s vocals are seconds to none! “Seasons” represents the style of sould music that you can really identify with & would like to hear more of. The other ballads are “Sombody’s Lovin’ You”, “Spend Some Time”, “Is This Love”, “Never Take Your Love Away” & “Someone Like You”, brings back that romantic style of R&B!

The mid-tempo songs that will get your head bopping are “Make Me Want You”, “ldl (Long Distance Lover)”, “I’ll Be Around” & “Full Circle”. The two up-beat songs on the CD are “Stay & Lay” & “Somebody’s Watching You” – All guaranteed to get you dancing anytime of the day!!

As I said before, the CD is just magnificent all around & it would be a shame not to have this CD in your collection. Cust Jones is ready to make his mark on the R&B world. Great to have you back Curt! You can find Curt’s CD at www.cdbaby.com

You won’t be disappointed!
