Alicia Keys – As I Am

The long awaited, highly anticipated project from a beautiful young lady with the ability to kiss the ‘keys’, has finally arrived. Is it what I’ve been expecting? Is it near exact measure of excellence like her last offering? Can she maintain a heighten level of success which could transfer her into a bonafied diva?

The Old School-Traditional R&B feel is definitely there. This time, however, I felt she brought more of herself to the table, rather than letting any over-produced arrangement take her vocal prowess out. These songs brings essence of real soul music; a reminder to the younger generational listeners to what difference it makes when you really apply yourself to genuine musical material. I was impressed with her performances, especially moments when she tickles the ivories. There were songs that didn’t click well with me, like “No One” & a couple of others. I’m quite sure they will grow on me later. But for the sake of this review, I’m going to do something different.

I will stay away from giving up any ‘daps’ to the selected tracks & just simply state that it would be in your best interest to grab this one for the holidays! I’m sure by now you all have heard 100’s of reviews of this album, considering the hype & promotion all over the web & off. You can’t help but to see that Alicia is very talented, attractive & carries herself well. Her recent big screen performance with Hip-Hop artist Common grab everyone’s attention. She does have it goin’ on & I expect to see more of her talents shine down the line…

I’m Out!
