Chris Brown – EXclusive

The sophomore effort from 18 year old Chris Brown. The very talented dancer, singer & now actor (new big-screen release “This Christmas”) brings the noise to the Urban Music backdrop. He brings a lot of special guests with him, which includes T-Pain, Big Boi, Kanye West, The Game, Lil Wayne & Will.I.Am. Will this CD do much better than the first?

Track Listing:
~ Threw
~ Kiss Kiss feat T-Pain
~ Take You Down
~ With You
~ Picture Perfect feat Will.I.Am
~ Hold Up feat Big Boi
~ You
~ Damage
~ Wall To Wall
~ Help Me
~ I Wanna Be
~ Gimme Whatcha Got feat Lil Wayne
~ I’ll Call Ya
~ Lottery
~ Nice feat Game (Bonus Track)

~ Down (feat Kanye West – Bonus Track)

Aside from any additional powerhouses such as super producer Scott Storch & many more, It still remains whether or not Chris can hang with the best of them vocally. He took on some chances covering or relating to more mature compositions for his tender vocal range. Maybe the idea of taking them on should be the respect given. But will it stay on the minds of Traditional R&B listeners? I don’t know, y’all be the judge.

There weren’t any particular tracks that I will barge in & break the door down with in my review of his latest. After listening to another track, not found on this album – “This Christmas” should have been placed as an additional bonus track, since I’ve been seeing that commercial/movie trailer glow all over the TV set lately. Not to say its one of his better performances as far as the CD is concerned, but I will go on to say this: Seeing him perform live is quite an experience! The young cat has a lot of energy! Not since my Break Dancing days in the 80’s have I seen a cat throw down like that!!

Overall, the CD is all about production more so to my ears. It can move you, but lets see if I can replay the entire album again the down the line….
