Trippin’ N’ Rhythm Records: The Very Best of Christmas

Trippin n Rhythm Records – The Very Best of Christmas

I’m always looking for that special new holiday project to keep in my cd player or in the ipod. This year it happens to be this wonderful project, The Very Best of Christmas, from Trippin n’ Rhythm. Never have I heard “Greensleeves” preformed so smooth and relaxing. Gregg Karukas must have sat under some mistletoe while laying down the tracks to this romantic version. Tim Bowman blends a funky groove into “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, a selection fit for play while traveling to your holiday destination.

Everytime I hear “Christmas Time Is Here”, visions of Peanuts dance through my head. Jaared performs this selection with the Electric Wind Instrument (EWI) and the sound is like breathing frosty air. The children will just be tickled when they hear “Santa Clause Is Coming to Town”. Oli Silk delivers this jolly tune as if he is Santa himself while sugar plums dance thru your head from listening.  A Christmas cd would not be complete with out a traditional favorite.  Cindy Bradley “Do You Hear What I Hear” reminds me of the true meaning of the birth of our Lord Jesus (very spiritual).

The smoothest track on the cd is Paul Hardcastles’ “Coming Home for Christmas” with Beki Biggins on vocals. Beki Biggins is always a treat on any Hardcastle composition. Hopefully Paul will someday produce a solo cd for her. The track that will kick off your Christmas party is U-Nams’ version of Donny Hathaway’s “This Christmas”. U-Nam just knows how to get your groove on. Rounding off the cd are three selections that will make your spirits bright: Gregg Karukas “The Christmas Song”, The Trippin Allstars “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and Jaared “Winter Wonderland”. All are ideal for sitting around a fireplace.

This cd is an ideal stocking stuffer. Happy Holidays!
