Dezaray Dawn | Chameleon (EP)

German born – Southern raised, writer, singer, producer Dezaray Dawn, who just may be the future of soul music, has just released a soulful EP titled “Chameleon”. Five soulful tracks that is just riveting for this young and upcoming performer. But Dezaray is no stranger to the music scene, it actually runs in her blood. Her mother was a part-time nightclub singer and on her dads side of the family includes several highly successful recording artists (neo-soul artist Anthony David, Sean Stockman of Boys II Men fame, and Tiny from Xscape) are cousins.

Traveling around the world as a army child exposed Dezaray to many different kinds of music. Dezeray was a DJ in Nashville, which she was exposed to electronica, and other types of music that had a major influence on her own style of music.

Chameleon, with it’s 4 grooving tracks and 1 remix is enough to start wondering what else this young lady has in store for us. And after hearing the CD, I was wanting more. Here are the track listings:

1. Chameleon
2. Da day
3. Can’t look down
4. Hide away
5. Chameleon (remix)

Neo-soul is still around but not a heavy as it used to be. It really kind of died out. Dezaray Dawn has resurrected the underground soul scene in more ways than you can think. Hoping that there will be a full cd in the near future.
