Jonathan Fritzen | Love Birds

I, Marvin D., was in the military back in 1979 and when I got to Europe, I made it a point to see everything. But I am so sorry that I didn’t get to Stockholm.

Jonathan Fritzén is the first artist to release a smooth jazz cd in Sweden called “Love Birds”. Jonathan’s songs range from silky smooth ballads to funky club-beats.

This cd has lots of influences, blended into a web of great composing and textured styles which give Jonathan a sound of his own. The production is just loose enough to let Jonathan play at a pace that is comfortable for him.

The sweet sounding tracks, “Temple Of Dreams”, “One Night With You”, & “Like A Star” are bouncy mid-tempo songs with a laid-back feel to it.

Jonathan slows it down a bit with cascading melodies on such songs like “Midnight Secrets”, “Love Birds”, “Deep Down, Far Away” and “Take Me Home”.

He also gets his groove on with songs – “Back 2 the club”, “Distant Mountains”, & “Always Be My Lover”.

This is a beautiful cd to listen to at any given time, and knowing that Sweden is now is the smooth jazz groove. I hope to hear about more artists from Sweden, including more from Jonathan himself.

And since Jonathan is into racket sports, I challenge him to some tennis, anytime!
