On November 9th, the bold and beautiful Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart will prove that the end of the season of Floetry was not the death of her genius concept ‘poetic delivery with music intent’. Judging from her upcoming new album, The Floacist presents Floetic Soul, her new season is bound to be a great one. Her first single, Forever, feat Musiq Soulchild is already a sweet sensation and ignition of love. So, what about the rest of the album?

Before walking away from the spotlight about four years ago, Natalie Stewart and Marsha Ambrosias were the neo-soul duo who gave us memorable tracks such as Floetic, Say Yes and Superstar. The group made their name in the industry and earned Grammy nominations including Best Contemporary R&B Album for the album Floetic. Time away has been great for The Floacist because it has allowed her to live, to breathe, and keep in touch with that defines her as an artist – without a doubt, it reflects in the tracks of Floetic Soul.

The quote, “To Thy Own Self Be True” by Shakespeare summarizes the theme in the song Breathe. Natalie reminds everyone to remember to be true to themselves; letting go of things that do not belong so as to give room to grow. She points out many things that hinder our growth: among them fears, residue of things that left us feeling weak and confusion. The song clearly shows she has taken time to interrogate and cleanse her own self and make peace with her spirit.

In the song Keep It Going, Natalie is joined by Raheem DeVaughn to create a smooth baby making track. Yes… you heard me. – Natalie reciting the pillow talk and Raheem ‘sexy’ DeVaughn sending chills to a girl’s body with his sultry voice. Oh heavens! Apart from working with Raheem and Musiq Soulchild, Natalie has also collaborated with Lalah Hathaway in the song Come Over.

This album indeed does what music is supposed to do: Unite, inspire and allow release. It unites the world of poetry and music. The tracks inspire the listener to dare to go to that place where they can be free of everything that brings them down and embrace peace, embrace love and embrace stability. It is that place that allows us to take time and appreciate that man or woman who remains a pillar of strength in your life. What more can you offer them other than forever?

She may have walked away from Floetry but, she never walked away from her genius. I just listened to the songs You, Let Me and What Are You Looking For. Selfishly I will say I am glad she went away when she did because Natalie ‘The Floacist’ Stewart has brought back with her serenity through the album The Floacist presents Floetic Soul.

Pre-order your copy now, you will not regret it.
